How To Get A Free Hearing Test

The month of May is Better Hearing and Speech Month. The folks at National Hearing Test have partnered with Duracell to offer you a free, scientifically validated, confidential, phone-based hearing screening, available for free during the month of May.

According to a press release from National Hearing Test, “Nearly half of adults over the age of 48 experience hearing loss, but far too few seek help. Left untreated, hearing loss can lead to social isolation, job loss and income reduction, and significantly lower quality of life.”

The test normally costs $5, but for the month of May, it is free of charge. To take the test, users can call the toll-free number (844) 938-7223. After the screening you will be given a score in 1 of 3 categories. You can use these results as a starting point in determining whether or not you want to visit an audiologist for a more definitive test. I took the test and it’s no joke. It’s totally free. Give them a call today, or tell a loved one about the screening. Let me know your thoughts on the free screening in the comments section. I’ll talk to you soon.

  1. Often when my husband and I are watching a movie on our TV, we are constantly asking each other, “What did they say?” Add an accent and we are lost. My husband has been a locomotive engineer for more than 25 years so his hearing is damaged by the sounds of a rail yard and the Diesel engines. Mine could be from tuning out children since I worked in large day care centers when I was in my twenties! And all the loud music I grew up with…Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, Grand Funk Railroad, Iron Butterfly, all those great heavy metal bands back in the 60’s and early 70’s!!!
